What it is
Gemini 4 Argon is Google's large reasoning model, released September 30, 2026, with a 1M-token context window and up to 262k output tokens. Vals AI ran it with reasoning effort set to high. Developer documentation listed by Vals: ai.google.dev.

- Finance Agent v2 cost and time per task: $4.38, 16m21s.
What the benchmarks test: FAB v2, filing-based analyst research questions; EMB, building Excel financial models (LBO, DCF, M&A, comps); Tax Agent, research-grade US corporate tax questions, all-or-nothing grading. All three use held-out test sets and AI judges.
Limits
- Slowest of the top three on Finance Agent v2: 16 minutes 21 seconds per task, against 3 minutes 21 seconds for Gemini 3.8 Flash.
- Under the stricter All-Pass grading, Vals names Muse Spark 1.2 and Gemini 3.8 Flash as the leaders; an All-Pass figure for Gemini 4 Argon is not shown in the page text.
- One of the three AI judges on Finance Agent v2 is Gemini 3.1 Pro, from the same model family. Vals does not report a bias test for its jury.
- Benchmarks measure research and modeling answers, not trading results.
